The gas blast killed two people

MOSCOW, February 20 (Itar-Tass) —— The fire, which was triggered by the gas blast at a bakery in the military township Gorki in the Moscow Region, was put out, chief press officer of the Moscow regional police department Yevgeny Gildeyev told Itar-Tass on Monday.

He confirmed that the gas blast killed two people. “They were found dead. They are being identified,” Gildeyev said. He noted that another 11 people were injured. Seven of them are in heavy condition.

The gas blast went off at 22:18 Moscow time on Sunday that triggered a fire in a two-storey building. The first floor of the building housed a shop, the second floor housed a cafe and a bakery.

“The gas cylinder exploded in the bakery. All injured people are bakery workers,” Gildeyev said. It was earlier reported that the visitors were wounded in the cafe, which hosted a marriage party.

The investigation into the incident continues.
