RIGA, February 19 (Itar-Tass) —— Latvia’s 25.02 percent citizens voted for granting the Russian language the status of the second state tongue.
According to the initial information from the Central Elections Commission from 1,000 voting stations of 1,035, the majority of voters – 74.66 percent /787,352/ voted against the amendments to the country’s Constitution. Besides, 0.32 percent of ballots /3,392/ were announced invalid.
