Nurgaliyev tells Medvedev about results of special operation

The minister said a total of 17 law enforcers had been killed by falling into an ambuscade and 24 policemen had been injured

MOSCOW, February 18 (Itar-Tass) — Interior Minister Rashid Nurgaliyev has told President Dmitry Medvedev about the special operation on the Chechen-Dagestani border, the Kremlin press service reported on Saturday.

As a result of the operation seven militants were killed, the press service said.

The minister said a total of 17 law enforcers had been killed by falling into an ambuscade and 24 policemen had been injured.

Medvedev instructed to render necessary assistance to families of law enforcers who had been killed during the operation. The head of state also instructed to provide medical assistance to the injured.
