60,000 people participate in rally for political stability in Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG, February 18 (Itar-Tass) — Some 60,000 people joined on Saturday a rally for political stability, which is now in progress in front of the Okyabrsky Cinema House.

Sponsors of the rally – the Federation of Trade Unions of St. Petersburg and the Leningrad Region – told Itar-Tass preliminary data on the number of rally participants.

The event is passing without incidents; law and order are guarded by 100 police officers and 150 young volunteers. Speakers call on rally participants to take part in presidential elections on March 4.

The event passes under the slogans “We need no great upheavals. We need great Russia”, “No ‘orange revolutions’ in Russia” and “For normal life without upheavals and revolutions”.
