Lungin and Margulis become Prokhorov’s election agents

In accordance with the law, presidential candidates in Russia may have up to 600 election agents

MOSCOW, February 17 (Itar-Tass) — Renowned producer Pavel Lungin and musician Yevgeny Margulis became election agents of the independent candidate Mikhail Prokhorov. Billionaire’s sister also became his election agent.

The Central Election Commission approved on Friday the additional list of Prokhorov’s election agents, which included 52 people. At the same time ten election agents have been recalled. Thus, the number of Prokhorov’s election agents will make up 469 people, Tatyana Voronova from the Central Election Commission explained.

Also on Friday, the CEC registered additionally 30 election agents of the Liberal Democratic candidate Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who will now have 325 people on this list. Just Russia’s Sergei Mironov will have 246 election agents.

In accordance with the law, presidential candidates in Russia may have up to 600 election agents. They take part in the election campaign in favour of their candidate and, in particular, they may take part in televised debates.
