BERLIN, February 17 (Itar-Tass) — Lufthansa has cancelled two flights between Frankfurt and Moscow on Friday because of a strike at the Frankfurt airport, its source told Itar-Tass.
The flight to Moscow’s Domodedovo airport due at 16:15, Moscow time, and the flight from Moscow to Frankfurt at 20:25, Moscow time, have been cancelled. However, it is not ruled out that other flights to and from Russia may be cancelled, the Lufthansa source said. “Decisions will be made proceeding from the situation,” he added.
At the same time, sources from Russia’s Aeroflot flagship carrier say that the strike does not affect the timetable of its flights both to Russia and from it. “All flights are planned according to the schedule,” Aeroflot’s spokeswoman said.
Meanwhile, employees of Frankfurt airport’s ground services continue the strike that started on Thursday. It will continue till 22:00 local time on Friday. A total of 172 of 526 scheduled flights were cancelled on Thursday because of the strike, including the Thursday flight by Aeroflot.
