MOSCOW, February 17 (Itar-Tass) —— A detained suspected killer of a showman, Leps Bar art director Rakhman Makhmudov (Neimark-Koen) confessed to murder, spokeswoman of the Moscow branch of the Investigation Committee Viktoria Tsyplenkova told Itar-Tass on Friday.
The showman was found dead in his flat on the Leningradskaya Avenue on February 14. A criminal case was opened for murder. “Forensic experts found that the death resulted from drowning. Bodily injuries were found on Makhmudov, including the fracture of the throat bones,” a source in the Moscow branch of the Investigation Committee said earlier.
“Today the detectives from the Savelovsky inter-district investigation department in the Investigation Committee together with the Moscow main Interior Ministry’s department detained a suspected killer of Makhmudov,” Markin said. “He turned out to be a Chechen native Akroman Mestoyev,” Tsyplenkova noted.
“The detectives found out that Mestoyev came to visit Makhmudov during the night on February 13. The quarrel sparked up between them and the suspect strangled the showman. Mestoyev put the dead man in the bath with water and went away,” the spokeswoman said.
During the search of the apartment of the suspected killer the wristwatch of the killed showman was found that Makhmudov allegedly presented to the suspect on the night of the murder. “Mestoyev pled guilty. Charges will be brought against him and he will be put in custody today,” Tsyplenkova said.
“An i-phone, an expensive wristwatch and a purse were stolen from Makhmudov’s flat,” a source in the law enforcement agencies told Itar-Tass before.
