MOSCOW, February 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Leader of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia (LDPR) Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who is running for Russian president, said on Thursday he would not mind taking an office in a government formed by any winner of the presidential race.
“If Vladimir Putin or any other candidate wins the elections and invites us to take a government post, we will not turn down such an invitation, because refusal is weakness,” he told a news conference.
According to earlier reports, Zhirinovsky repeatedly said he was ready to take part in the formation of a coalition government. “The LDPR has never thrust itself on anyone but we are ready to take part in any form of the country’s government. We are ready to be part of any government on any terms,” he said several days ago. He added, however, that no one had contacted him with such proposals so far.
