KIEV, February 16 (Itar-Tass) —— Ukraine’s government adopted a draft concept of the state scientific and technical space programme for 2012-2017, press service of the country’s space agency reported on Thursday.
Planned financing of the program makes 2.58 billion hryvnias /323 million dollars/, where 1.12 billion hryvnias /140 million dollars/ are the budget’s money.
“Implementation of the program will provide for the space technologies’ development and their integration in the real economy sector and in spheres of national security and defense,” the report reads. Ukraine, for example, plans to make distanced probing of the Earth from the space, several scientific space researches. The state programme is expected to give an impetus to development of space technologies.
