NALCHIK, February 16 (Itar-Tass) — A special operation is underway in Kabardino-Balkaria's Urvan district. The regime of anti-terrorist operation was introduced in the town of Nartkala from 08:30, Moscow time, the republic's operations headquarters told Itar-Tass.
"The legal regime of anti-terrorist operation was introduced until further notice," the headquarters said.
The decision was made by the head of the department of the Federal Security Service for Kabardino-Balkaria Maj-Gen Sergei Kmenny, to prevent acts of terror, ensure the safety of citizens, organizations and institutions, search and detention of the gang members in hiding."
A range of special measures and temporary restrictions will be in effect in the designated territory for the period of the anti-terrorist operation.
