MOSCOW, February 15 (Itar-Tass) — Moscow police detained a former employee of a money collection service suspected of stealing more than eight million roubles in 2008, the main department of the Interior Ministry for the Russian capital told Itar-Tass on Wednesday. The operation was carried out by agents of the criminal investigation department for the southeastern administrative district.
The suspect worked as a guard of a money collection service. On December 19, 2008, he stayed back in a car as his colleagues got out to collect cash. He pulled his service pistol and ordered the driver to get out, whereupon he drove away the armored vehicle. The car was later found, but the money was gone.
Criminal proceedings were opened under Article 162 of Russia’s Criminal Code /”robbery”/.
