Zyuganov and Zhirinovsky are ready to take part in coalition government if invited

The leaders of Russia’s Liberal Democrat Party and Communist Party would be prepared to participate in creating a coalition government

MOSCOW, February 14 (Itar-Tass) —— The leaders of Russia’s Liberal Democrat Party and Communist Party – Vladimir Zhirinovsky and Gennady Zyuganov – would be prepared to participate in creating a coalition government, but no consultations have been held on the issue so far.

“We are interested in pooling efforts, we shall form such a coalition,” Zyuganov told the media. He recalled that he had already proposed the composition of a left-center government he would form after the presidential election. There must only be professionals in a future Cabinet, and the CPRF does have them.

Asked about whether there had been any consultations with him on that issue, Zyuganov replied that “the Kremlin is a very broad term, and in the Kremlin there are many people who share the socialist ideals. As for consultations with CPRF representatives, including Zyuganov himself, there have been none.

Zhirinovsky said that nobody has ever consulted with him.

“I have always raised issues myself,” he remarked.

“The LDPR never thrusts itself upon others, but we shall be prepared to participate in running the country in any format. We are ready to join any government and on any conditions,” Zhirinovsky said.
