MOSCOW, February 14 (Itar-Tass) — The Bolshoi Theatre renovation cost amounted to 35.4 billion roubles, which was less than the planned 37 billion, 95.5 percent of the estimated cost, the Russian Audit Chamber said after expert examinations.
The expert analysis established that with the estimated 37-billion cost of the renovation, restoration and technical equipment of the Bolshoi Theatre (the prices of the fourth quarter of 2009), out of the allocated budget funds, 35.4 billion roubles were spent as of January 1, 2012, or 95.5 percent, the Audit Chamber said in its report placed in its website on Tuesday.
There were no debts in payments for the work, supplies and services as of January 1, the auditors noted.
According to the control service, 20 state contracts of a total cost of three billion roubles were concluded with main contractor organizations since the fourth quarter of 2009. A total of 44.2 million roubles were saved, as the sum is compared to the starting price.
Among the shortcomings was the postponement of the opening of the production and storehouse complex from 2011 till the first quarter of 2012, Audit Chamber experts said.
The reports about the expert analysis will be submitted to the two houses of the Federal Assembly (parliament), the Russian Ministry of Culture, the Russian presidential administration and the Bolshoi Theatre administration.
