MOSCOW, February 14 (Itar-Tass) — Three police were killed in a clash with militants in Chechnya's Nozhai-Yurt district on Monday evening.

Police found a group of gunmen during a search in the woods near the village of Simsir. Supposedly, the group was led by a Temiraliyev. "The commander of police patrol, a demolition expert and a serviceman from the same unit have been killed," a law-enforcement official told Itar-Tass by telephone.

"A police Lieutenant, four Sergeants and a Sergeant Major were wounded. The gunmen escaped. Police are looking for them," the official said.
