MOSCOW, February 13 (Itar-Tass) — Moscow expects the United Arab Emirates foreign minister, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed al Nahayan, to give a detailed explanation on decisions taken by the League of Arab States on Syria, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday.
The talks with the UAE colleague are very timely due to the LAS session on Syria, Lavrov said. “We hope that the UAE foreign minister will inform Russia about the LAS corresponding decisions on Syria,” the minister added.
He noted that Russia “praises a political dialogue with the UAE that facilitates stabilisation of the situation in the region and all around the world".
For his part, al Nahayan said, "The winter in Russia surpassed the events in the Arab world." "We value our relationship with Russia," the UAE foreign minister stressed.
