Emergency regime imposed over frosts in 11 districts of Dagestan

MAKHACHKALA, February 12 (Itar-Tass) —— Severe frosts have forced Dagestan’s authorities to impose an emergency regime in eleven districts of the republic. The emergency regime was imposed on Saturday for a term of one week.

According to Dagestan’s weather forecast centre, air temperature in the nighttime drop to minus 30-32 degrees Centigrade in Dagestan’s northern districts. In Makhachkala, air temperatures are 14-15 degrees below zero in the nighttime, and 10-12 degrees below zeron in the daytime.

Another wave of cold Arctic air is expected to reach the republic on February 13-14.

Three round-the-clock shelters have been organized in Makhachkala, Khsavyurst and Derbent to offer warming services and medical help to the population.
