MOSCOW, February 10 (Itar-Tass) —— Director General of Kommersant Publishers Demyan Kudryavtsev said on Thursday he officially requested police to sue pro-Kremlin youth movement Nashi leaders for organizing DDoS attacks on the website of Kommersant daily.
He asked to bring to criminal responsibility Kristina Poputchik, Artur Omarov, Roman Verbitsky and others for the attacks on www.kommersant.ru and resulting material damage.
Kudryavtsev said he asked to institute a criminal case after each attack on the website, but to no avail. However this time the correspondence of spokeswoman of the Russian Youth Committee Poputchik appeared in Internet.
“Now we know who ordered unlawful actions. The correspondence of the Nashi clearly shows they realized the unlawfulness of their actions, but were convinced of impunity,” Kudryavtsev said adding “we demand that they should not escape responsibility.”
Even if investigators do not expose the crime, “sooner or later the civilized world will be closed for cautious masterminds of DDoS attacks, while uncautious will face trial which will be impossible to influence by phone calls from the Kremlin administration,” Kudryavtsev said.
Russia Anonymous hackers posted a letter by Poputchik dated 2008 when she was Nashi spokeswoman and called to launch an attack on Kommersant website which followed several days later and blocked the site for over a day.
