MOSCOW, February 9 (Itar-Tass) — About 450 clients of Russia’s Lanta-Tur Voyage tour operator remain abroad, and 89 of them are returning home on Thursday, spokesman for the Rosturizm State Tourism Agency Oleg Moseyev told Tass.

Lanta Tur Voyage, one of the largest and oldest tourist companies in Russia, suddenly stopped its activity on January 27. Thousands of clients failed to start their vacations abroad and tourists, who were already staying at hotels with Lanta Tur Voyage vouchers, experienced problems.

VTB and Lanta Tur Voyage signed an agreement on February 1 to issue the tour operator with a loan of $7 million for five years so that it could pay off the debts.

On Wednesday, 214 Lanta Tur clients returned home, and at the moment 444 people remain abroad, Moseyev said, adding that 89 clients of that company will return to Russia on Thursday.

He said “about 200 people remain in Thailand, 197 – in India, 55 - in Indonesia and six - in Vietnam”.

According to the spokesman, practically all tourists will return home before February 11, while several tourists are expected to fly back home on February 12-13.
