Over twelve thousand people cut off electricity in Krasnodar territory

KRASNODAR, February 8 (Itar-Tass) — A hurricane, which crossed the Black Sea area of the Krasnodar Territory left 12,400 individuals without electicity, Kubanenergo’s press service told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

“Last night the emergency teams, who are working round the clock, managed to restore electricity supplies to houses and flats of about 140,000 people,” the source said.

As of Wednesday morning, some parts of the resorts in Gelendzhin, Anapa,Tuapse and Temryuk regions do not have full electricity supplies.

The repairing works are carried out by 21 teams, which use 33 specialised vehicles.

A storm warning is forecasted in Novorossiisk on Wednesday.

“The strong continuous wind may cause emergency situations and accidents, it may damage roofs and electricity lines; transport and people may suffer from falling trees and billboards, from damage of port and moorings’ facilities,” Krasnodar’s branch of EMERCOM said.
