KIEV, February 6 (Itar-Tass) — Ukraine is ready to help Russia supply gas to the European consumers, Prime Minister Nikolai Azarov said on Monday.
“When Russia reduced gas supplies to Europe and when Gazprom representatives recognised it, we told them – ‘please let’s make up an agreement and use our help if you consider it necessary’,” Azarov said.
Earlier, Naftogaz Ukrainy said it begun taking gas from Ukrainian underground storage facilities. Besides, the company reduced topping of gas supplied by Gazprom. The company said strong frosts in Russia reduced gas supplies on the border with Ukraine.
