MOSCOW, February 4 (Itar-Tass) — A family of nine people, including seven children, died in a fire in the Moscow Region. Still another child is hospitalized in a grave state.
A criminal case was instituted in connection with the fire.
“A criminal case was instituted under Article 219 of the Russian Criminal Code (violation of fire safety rules, entailing, by negligence, the death of two or more persons); an investigative group is working at the place of the accident, trying to establish reasons for the fire,” Itar-Tass learnt from a spokeswoman of the Moscow regional branch of the Russian Investigation Committee Irina Gumennaya.
The regional branch told Itar-Tass about the fire in two make-shift wooden buildings at the Shcherbinki-2 garden cooperative society, which was localized by the time of writing. “All in all, ten people could live in the make-shift buildings,” a source said.
According to law enforcement bodies, that was a large family, possessing two flats in Zelenograd, a Moscow suburb.
