MEXICO, February 4 (Itar-Tass) — Russia will provide 41 million US dollars to Nicaragua for building a medical centre with the most advanced equipment, Guillermo Gonzalez - President Daniel Ortega’s adviser for social affairs, said in the Nicaraguan capital on Friday.
The hospital will be built in three years in the vicinity of the Augusto Sandino international airport in Managua. According to Gonzalez, the medical centre will occupy an area 24 thousand square metres and will have 303 hospital beds. It is planned to install there, in particular, video equipment, which will ensure “real time” monitoring of all the most complex surgeries, said Gonzalez.
According to him, Russia is expected this year to start the transfer of funds to Nicaragua for the beginning of the centre’s construction in accordance with the agreement reached at the talks within the framework of the bilateral Intergovernmental Commission. Its meeting was held in Moscow in January. At this meeting the Nicaraguan delegation presented a package of projects worth a total of 600 million US dollars that are proposed for joint implementation.
