Ex-minister awarded Stolypin Medal

MOSCOW, February 2 (Itar-Tass) — Prime Minister Vladimir Putin awarded ex-minister of industry and trade Viktor Khristenko with the Stolypin Medal "for many years of fruitful work in the government of the Russian Federation," Putin said. He thanked Khristenko for everything he's done while working as a minister.

The prime minister also congratulated Khristenko on his appointment to the post of the Chairman of the Eurasian Economic Commission Board  (EEC).

The Stolypin Medal was instituted in memory of Pyotr Stolypin - an early 20th century prime minister and an author of progressive reforms, who served under the last Russian tsar, Nicholas II.
