KIEV, February 1 (Itar-Tass) — Germany and Canada offered to send their doctors to Ukraine for medical examination of the Ukrainian ex-prime minister Yulia Timoshenko, the press service of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.

Germany and Canada are the only countries, which expressed interest in Timoshenko's medical check-up immediately after the Ukrainian Health Ministry, the Foreign Ministry and the Prosecutor's General asked all the interested states to help, the press service said.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry also asked the heads of diplomatic missions of Canada and Germany to promptly submit documents confirming the professional qualification of the candidates suggested and inform about possible dates of their arrival to Ukraine, it said.

The Ukrainian side confirmed that it was prepared in the shortest possible time to create a special joint medical commission, which without delays should make a medical examination of Yulia Timoshenko.

Ukrainian MP Sergei Vlasenko, Timoshenko's lawyer, earlier told journalists that despite medical therapy the ex-prime minister's health did not improve. Timoshenko continues to turn down categorically any types of medical examinations performed by the Ukrainian Health Ministry doctors, the lawyer said.

On October 11 the Kiev Pechorsky district court sentenced Timoshenko to seven years in prison for exceeding her powers when signing gas contracts with Russia in 2009.
