Nine tank-cars are on fire in Amur Region

Oil spilled out and spread over an area of up to 600 square metres

VLADIVOSTOK, January 31 (Itar-Tass) — Fourteen railway tank-cars with oil ran off the track in Amur Region on Tuesday morning, according to verified data given by the Far Eastern regional center of the Russian Ministry for Emergencies.

The Port Nakhodka-bound train from Skovorodino consisted of 68 tank-cars. Nine of them caught fire. The train crew disconnected the burning tank-cars from the train which was immediately driven away to a safe distance. Two railway tracks were destroyed as a result of the incident. Oil spilled out and spread over an area of up to 600 square metres.
