MOSCOW, January 28 (Itar-Tass) — The Russian government intends to set up a strategic planning agency for assessing threats to national and technological security of Russia, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said on Saturday.
“Probably, we should establish at the Russian government a Strategic Analysis and Planning Agency, the functions of which will consist in assessing prospects for the development of the situation in the world in the field of security, determining risks and threats to national defenses and technological independence of Russia for a 30-year perspective – no less, and maybe for a longer period of time,” the deputy prime minister said at a general meeting of the Academy of Military Sciences, in which he took part.
“The agency will develop strategies of the main military, economic, scientific and technical directions of Russia’s development for the given period. Proceeding from this, a forecast of requirements of the Russian Armed Forces in corresponding armaments and working out of forms of armed fighting will be formed. Recommendations for technological and industrial development of the home defense industrial complex will also be developed.
