MOSCOW, January 28 (Itar-Tass) —— Hurricane-caused power blackouts in Russia’s southern Krasnodar Region have been eliminated, the spokesman for the southern regional center of the Emergency Situations Ministry, Oleg Grekov, told Itar-Tass.
“Full electric power supply resumed to all communities in the Krasnodar Territory at 00:42 Moscow time,” he said.
In the small hours of January 27 strong winds, up to 38 meters per second, damaged power supply lines in the southwestern energy supply region of the Krasnodar Territory. What made the situation still worse, the air temperatures fell to 13 degrees below freezing.
As at 09:00 Moscow time on January 27 250,000 consumers in the resort city of Anapa, port city of Novorossisk and the communities around them remained without power supply. By 21:00 of the same day most of the power outages in the coastal cities and also in small communities of both municipalities had been eliminated.
