MOSCOW, January 27 (Itar-Tass) —— Dmitry Larikov, 31-year-old deputy of the Council of the St. Petersburg 54th Municipality, was detained in Moscow carrying almost three kilograms of hashish, Russian Investigation Committee spokesman Vladimir Markin told Itar-Tass on Friday.
He said the detention took place by 43, Mitinskaya Street, at about 2:30 a.m. Moscow time on Thursday.
“A plastic briefcase containing 30 packs of hashish with the total weight of 2.9 kilograms was seized from the suspect in the presence of witnesses. The Moscow office of the Russian Investigation Committee opened a criminal case by Article 30, Part 1 and Article 228.1, Part 3 of the Russian Criminal Code,” he said.
Larikov came to Moscow from St. Petersburg on January 25. He planned to put the case into a 24/7 shop’s locker on Mitinskaya Street, Markin said.
“The detectives will appeal to court for the arrest of Larikov. He will soon be questioned as a suspect. Investigative procedures are underway,” he said.
