MOSCOW, January 27 (Itar-Tass) —— An Ingush warlord from the international terrorist organization Imarat Caucasus was destroyed in Ingushetia, spokesman of the Russian National Anti-Terrorist Committee Nikolai Sintsov told Itar-Tass on Friday.

Three gunmen were blocked at a private house in Ekazhevo in the Nazran Region of the republic in a special operation on Friday. The gunmen put up armed resistance and were destroyed in the retaliatory fire.

“According to preliminary reports, a gunman was identified as Dzhamaleil Mutaliyev (nicknamed Adam) born in 1976, who was a warlord of the international terrorist organization Imarat Caucasus and was on the federal wanted list,” Sintsov noted.

The National Anti-Terrorist Committee noted that Mutaliyev joined illegal armed units during the second Chechen military campaign. “He was one of Shamil Basayev’s accomplices. In 2010 after the detention of Ali Taziyev nicknamed Magas he was appointed as the so-called military amir of the Imarat Caucasus and an Ingush warlord,” the spokesman said.

“Doku Umarov and Mutayiev were to carry out the most high-profiled terrorist acts,” the National Anti-Terrorist Committee said. A terrorist act at the Vladikavkaz marketplace in September 2010 and a suicide bomb attack on the Rostov-Baku highway in August 2010 are among these terrorist attacks.

Two other destroyed gunmen, namely Bekkhan Ganiyev, born in 1988, who was a close accomplice of the so-called amir of the Malgobek gang and “is involved in several terrorist crimes and attacks on law enforcers with special cruelty and cynicism” and an accomplice of the gang Magomed Katsiyev, were indentified.

“During the search at the house, where the gunmen entrenched, a homemade explosive device with the power of about 15 kilograms of TNT was found. Over the danger of the blast it was destroyed at the spot,” Sintsov said.

Meanwhile, an arms cache was found on the territory next to the house. The arms cache contained weapons, cartridges with various calibres, military uniform, and the ready-made suicide bomber belt.

Investigation actions are being taken at the scene.
