MOSCOW, January 26 (Itar-Tass) —— An actress of the Moscow theatre Lenkom and People’s Artist of the Soviet Union Inna Churikova, who broke right both hands last Wednesday, will undergo a surgery, Lenkom Director Mark Varshaver told Itar-Tass on Thursday.
“Today at the 31st hospital, where Inna Churikova is undergoing treatment, the doctors had a medical board meeting, which decided on a surgery, which should be made today,” the Lenkom director said. Citing the professional opinion of the doctors, he elaborated that this decision will have a positive effect on the health of the patient and will speed up her rehabilitation.
“We are constantly keeping in touch with the doctors of the 31st hospital, The doctors said that if they plaster both hands for Inna Mikhailovna they will deprive her of an opportunity to do basic things for life for a long time. The medics believe that after the surgery Inna Mikhailovna will be able to help herself that will facilitate the recuperation substantially and cut the time for it,” Varshaver went on to say.
Last Wednesday Inna Churikova fell down on the doorsteps of the theatre on her way for the rehearsal. The ambulance was called up immediately and the actress was brought to the 31st hospital, where an x-ray was made for Churikova and other necessary medical examinations were made. Finally it turned out that the actress broke both hands. Now she should undergo a surgery.
However, the Lenkom directorate does not intend to turn the accident in the tragedy and wants to calm down the admirers of Inna Churikova’s talent.
“Inna Mikhailovna has a strong will. Last summer she also endured a heavy injury, breaking simultaneously a hand and a leg, but recovered very quickly,” the director of the theatre said with confidence.
Inna Churikova is 68 years old. She plays in Lenkom and had many roles in the movies since 1975.
