MOSCOW, January 26 (Itar-Tass) —— Chairman of the Central Elections Commission (CEC) Vladimir Churov believes that expenses for the police, which will ensure security of the elections, should have a separate article in the budget for the elections.
“After the election campaign a budget article of expenditures for the bonuses and equipment for the police to the election campaign should be discussed,” Churov said at a meeting of the staff that was devoted to the prevention of offences in the preparations to the Russian presidential elections.
The CEC chief recalled that five presidential candidates are registered now and the registration of another two candidates will be considered on Friday.
Despite this fact the amount of work grew considerably, primarily over the technical reequipping program for presidential elections.
He noted that 2,747 territorial election committees were formed, including a committee abroad and at the Baikonur spaceport, as well as more than 95,000 district election committees.
“The volume of ballot papers is the same as at the elections on December 4. Some 111 million ballot papers will be made with some reserve,” the CEC chief concluded.
