Yakutia to develop promising recreational clusters, tourism

Last year, the republic received State financial support amounting to over 30 million roubles

GORNO-ALTAISK, January 26 (Itar-Tass) — In the years to come, the Republic of Yakutia (Sakha) is planningt to develop promising recreational clusters, cultural-and-educational types of tourims, eco-tourism, image-building tourist itineraries, and establish new tourist centers.

The main tasks in developing the republic's touristm sector are to bring into being high-quality and safe industry of tourism as a product, actively to promote it pm the domestic and external markets, and refine the personnel training system, Yekaterina Kormilitsyna, Yakuatia minister of tourism and entrepreneurship, told a conference in Yakutsk on Thursday.

Kormilitsyna said the development of the tourism sector develops within the framework of the Scheme for the layout of productive forces, transport and energy facilities in Yakutia in the period ending in 2020, as well as the Strategy for the development of the industry of tourism within a period until 2025, and the republican purpose-oriented programme for the development of internal and inbound tourism for the 2012-2016 period.

The fact that Yakutia, among 31 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, has been implemeting the Federal purpose-oriented programme for the development of internal and inbound tourism for the 2011-2018 period can be vewed as one of significant achivements. In the process, a cluster approach to the zoning of territories will be applied in the development of the tourism sector. The presentation of the republic's image-building tourism projects is to be held at the Rosturizm (Federal Tousism Agency) soon.

The repubilc has established contacts for the development of the industry of tourism with the regions of the Far East, Baikalsk District, as well as with Japan, London, South Korea, the Czech Republic, and China with a view to arranging presentations, exhibitions, and exchages of tourists.

Last year, the republic received State financial support amounting to over 30 million roubles. Entrepreneurs got 48 grants to the tune of over 10 million roubles for the development and refinement of tourist itineraries.

The republic is planning to train such personnel on the basis of the Pokrovsk College, the North-Eastern Federal University, and the Russian University of Servicing and Tourism.
