Investigators probing into fatal food poisoning of two girls in Moscow

A criminal case was opened on charges of causing death through negligence

MOSCOW, January 25 (Itar-Tass) —— Investigators are probing into the death of two girls who were poisoned to death in MOscow, a spokeswoman for the Moscow administration of the Russian Investigations Committee told Itar-Tass on Wednesday.

According to the spokeswoman, the two girls, Elizaveta and Anna Polyakovs, were taken to hospital on January 19 and died there on January 24. “According to preliminary data, the cause of death was food poisoning,” she said.

The investigators checked the apartment they had lived it and seized foodstuffs that might have caused poisoning. They also took air samples for laboratory tests.
