Putin urges migrants not to create mono-ethnic neighbourhoods

"It would be better to refrain from creating such mono-ethnic neighbourhoods"

KISLOVODSK, January 23 (Itar-Tass) —— Prime Minister Vladimir Putin urged migrants to refrain from creating mono-ethnic neighbourhoods.

“In the modern world when people get into such mono-ethnic environment, they try to get out of there because they suck in, limit and prevent from developing,” Putin said at the Forum of Peoples of South Russia on Monday, January 23.

“It would be better to refrain from creating such mono-ethnic neighbourhoods. A person should feel free and equal among equal only if he can realize his best qualities,” Putin said.

“When people go to another region or country and live together, there is generally nothing about that, but when this turns into closed mono-structures, it is bad for both the local population and for the people who live there,” he said.
