Pilots freed in South Sudan

The pilots would continue working for the airline

MOSCOW, January 22 (Itar-Tass) —— The pilots detained in South Sudan, including Russia’s Vladimir Popkov, are free, Russian Presidential Representative for Africa Mikhail Margelov told Itar-Tass.

The crew of an Antonov An-32 jetliner of the Sudanese airline Park Air was detained in South Sudan on December 28, 2011. In addition to the Russian, the crew was made up of citizens of Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Armenia and Sudan.

Margelov said that the pilots would continue working for the airline.
