MOSCOW, January 22 (Itar-Tass) —— Palestine is adherent to negotiations with Israel and peace, Palestinian National Authority (PNA) President Mahmud Abbas told reporters in Moscow on Sunday.
“We are adherent to further negotiations. That is the only way to resolve the conflict. However, the construction of Israeli homes does not help achieve this goal,” Abbas said. In his words, Israeli settlers frequently attack Palestinians. “Five mosques were recently burned on the West Bank,” he said.
“If the negotiations fail, that will happen through the fault of Israel. Israel will show to the whole world who is to be blamed,” Abbas said. “By doing so, Israel will show to the quartet that no solution has been found.”
He welcomed the statements of the German federal chancellor and the British premier who said that Israel was responsible for the absence of negotiations.
“Palestine wants peace and works towards it,” Abbas said.
