ST. PETERSBURG, January 22 (Itar-Tass) —— The St. Petersburg city police are investigating the death of a 15-year-old boy detained on suspicion of a robbery in the city’s southeastern neighborhood.

The boy felt unwell after he had been taken to a police station and died on an ambulance. The death cause is so far unknown.

The incident happened early on Sunday morning, the St. Petersburg and Leningrad region police department told Itar-Tass. According to the preliminary reports, the teenager attacked a 45-year-old woman near 12, Shotman Street in the Nevsky district, grabbed her bag and started running. The woman’s shouts caught attention of a police patrol, which captured the boy.

The boy was taken to the 75the police department. He felt unwell approximately ten minutes after the detention. The police alleged they did not put the boy into a cell due to his young age.
