Mironov promises “literal execution of Constitution” if elected

He expressed this promise in theses of the election platform of the presidential candidate

MOSCOW, January 22 (Itar-Tass) — A Just Russia leader Sergei Mironov promises “unconditional and literal execution of articles of the operating Constitution”, given he wins the presidential elections.

He expressed this promise in theses of the election platform of the presidential candidate, published on Sunday on his LiveJournal page.

“Unconditional and literal execution of articles of the operating Constitution is an imperative of present social and political life. My presidential platform aims exactly at returning these articles their initial sense,” he noted.

The legislator added that the country “needs a complete review of election legislation”. “I suggest hammering out a single new election code so that any elections in our country – from municipal to presidential – should stick to a single document rather than to numerous, as is the case now,” Mironov emphasized.

The politician stated that in case of his victory, he “will ditch the legislators’ immunity at any level”. “Nobody will be lured to gain legislative power to get deputies’ immunity,” his platform says.

A Just Russia Party leader also expressed readiness to become “a president of an interim period”. “I shall need only two years to launch a broad complex of reforms I describe in my presidential platform. When I see afterwards that my reforms found support from the people, I shall again nominate for early presidential elections which will pass already under new and just election legislation,” Mironov promised.
