VELIKY NOVGOROD, January 21 (Itar-Tass) — The installation of iconoscopes at polling stations for presidential elections will be started in Veliky Novgorod, reported the Ministry of Communications and Mass Media.
“Large-scale assembly of iconoscopes to ensure online telecasting of presidential elections will start from polling stations in Veliky Novgorod on January 21,” the ministry reported.
The event will be attended by Minister of Communications and Mass Media Igor Shchegolev.
Prime Minister Vladimir Putin instructed to fit out all polling stations with icons to transmit to Internet. The assignment of the All-Russian project presupposes that the system of video observation will cover more than 91,000 election commissions, and its productivity will make possible to link up 25 million users with 60,000 simultaneous review from each of 200,000 iconoscopes.
The video system at each poll consists of two video icons, a source of uninterrupted power supply, a set of cables and notebook or a computer with appropriate peripheral equipment.
