ULYANOVSK, January 20 (Itar-Tass) —— Certification of the new passenger jetliner Tupolev Tu-204SM, which is being built at the Ulyanovsk Aviastar-SP, will be complete by the middle of this year, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin told the Russian Popular Front supporters on Friday.

“I think the certification process will be complete in June and the serial production will start in the middle of this year,” he said.

He also said that the federal authorities would assign substantial funds for the acquisition of jetliners produced by Aviastar-SP in the next few years. He noted that the plant would build ten Antonov An-124 ‘Ruslan’ jets and several dozens of Ilyushin Il-476 before 2020.
