Patriarch of Alexandria Teodoros to receive Orthodox award

During the visit, the Patriarch of Alexandria will recite the liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour

MOSCOW, January 20 (Itar-Tass) — Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria and All Africa arrives here on Friday. The prize of the public Orthodox Peoples' Unity Foundation is to be presented to him on Saturday, January 21.

The distinguished guest is to meet with the leadership of Russia and with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and All Russia on Friday. This will be the patriarchs' second meeting: in 2009, Patriarch Kirill visited Egypt where the residence of the Alexandria Patriarchate is located.

During the visit, the Patriarch of Alexandria, together with the Primates of the Russian and Czech Orthodox Churches, will recite the liturgy in the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour on Sunday.

On Monday, the three patriarchs will attend the opening of International Christmas Educational Readings.
