Tax burden level in Russia shouldn’t change

The changes can be made in the sum of insurance fees

MOSCOW, January 19 (Itar-Tass) —— The tax burden level in Russia should not change drastically, but some direct taxes can be replaced with indirect taxes, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told reporters on Thursday.

“We should ensure stability and sustainability of the tax system,” he noted. “Some changes can be made in this sphere, but the general level of tax burden should not change. However, some direct taxes can be replaced with indirect taxes,” he added.

Siluanov did not note what taxes in particular are meant, noting that “the matter of tax changes is very creative, and there are already many proposals from the economic community” and all of them will be discussed.

The changes can be made in the sum of insurance fees, which will depend from the reform of the pension system, he said.
