Russia to supply 250,000 tonnes of poultry meat on foreign markets

The poultry meat market is a promising trend, the poultry meat exports reached 20,000 tonnes for the previous year

MANAMA (Bahrain), January 19 (Itar-Tass) —— Russia will supply up to 250,000 tonnes of poultry meat on foreign markets in 2012, Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Viktor Zubkov told reporters.

“The poultry meat market is a promising trend, the poultry meat exports reached 20,000 tonnes for the previous year,” the first deputy prime minister said. “We will be able to deliver up to 200,000-250,000 tonnes of this kind of food already this year,” he noted. Russia is planning to bring this figure to 400,000 tonnes by 2015, Zubkov noted. He added that the Bahrain market is considered as promising for such supplies.

“Meanwhile, the top priority will remain the saturation of the domestic market, the keeping of the Russian supply at the level sufficient to ensure domestic price stability,” Zubkov underlined.
