MOSCOW, January 18 (Itar-Tass) —— The Moscow authorities will pay compensations to the families of the Muscovites killed and injured in a gas blast at the restaurant. Under the decree signed by Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin injured Muscovites will receive 500,000 roubles each and the families of the restaurant blast victims will receive one million roubles each, a source in the Moscow authorities said.
Meanwhile, the children, which live in Moscow and lost a parent in the gas explosion, will receive additional monthly compensations. The Moscow Mayor’s Office recalled that the families of the gas blast victims received the compensations for the funeral services. “The Moscow authorities allocated 38,300 roubles for each person, paid for the transportation of the gas blast victims to the funeral place, particularly outside Moscow,” a source in the Moscow Mayor’s Office said, adding that 5.038 million roubles were allocated for these measures from the city reserves.
The gas explosion went off at the Italian restaurant in south-western Moscow on January 9. Two people died instantaneously in the gas blast, another one died later at the hospital. Some 40 people were injured, 32 people were hospitalized. Some 18 people, including three of them in severe condition, are undergoing treatment at the Moscow hospitals.
