Pedophile sentenced to 15 years in jail in Krasnoyarsk territory

The investigation of this high-profile case was under control of Russian presidential children’s rights commissioner Pavel Astakhov

KRASNOYARSK, January 18 (Itar-Tass) —— The Sukhobuzimsky district court in the Krasnoyarsk Territory sentenced to 15 years in a tough security prison a resident of the village Atamanovo Sergei Pashkov for molestation of children at the Tayezhny children’s holiday home on Wednesday.

“The court found the defendant completely guilty earlier (on January 11),” senior aide to the territorial prosecutor Yelena Pimonenko told Itar-Tass.

The prosecutor produced the evidence that Pashkov, 40, penetrated “in the bedroom of the Tayezhny children’s holiday home and stole various property” overnight to July 21. “After the burglary he found sleeping little girls in the bedroom. They arrived for vacations from the orphanages in the Krasnoyarsk Territory. Brandishing the knife he intimidated the two underage girls and molested them with the threat to use violence,” Pimonenko said.

Pashkov already had previous convictions and an unexpired conviction. In 2010 he worked as a carpenter at the Tayezhny children’s holiday home and was acquainted with the security system at the children’s holiday home. “This fact contributed to his unhampered penetration on the guarded territory of the children’s summer camp and the committing of the crimes,” Pimonenko noted.

A criminal case was opened under Article 132 of the Criminal Code for sexual violence against underage children and Article 158 for burglary.

The investigation of this high-profile case was under control of Russian presidential children’s rights commissioner Pavel Astakhov.
