MOSCOW, January 18 (Itar-Tass) — Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is expected to hold a news conference upon the results of 2011, a spokesman for the Foreign Ministry said.

A record number of reporters have been accredited to cover it.

“The press conference devoted to the results of Russian diplomats’ operations in 2011 is due to begin at 11:00 hours in the Foreign Ministry’s conference hall and it will be broadcast at the ministry’s website in Russian, English and French,” the spokesman said.

“A total of 300 reporters from 160 Russian and foreign mass media outlets have been accredited to cover it,” he said. “Sergei Lavrov is ready to answer any questions and the meeting holds promise of being a very interesting one.”

It is expected that the reporters will ask the minister about the situation around Iran and Syria, Russia’s relations with Ukraine and Belarus, and the emergency situations, which the Russians get into while traveling abroad.
