MOSCOW, January 17 (Itar-Tass) — Russian President Dmitry Medvedev has signed the decree relieving Volgograd region governor Anatoly Brovko of his duties at his own request, the Kremlin press service reported on Tuesday.

Former Astrakhan mayor, State Duma lawmaker from the United Russia faction Sergei Bozhenov has been appointed acting Volgograd region governor until "the person vested with the powers of Volgograd region governor, takes office."
