MOSCOW, January 17 (Itar-Tass) —— Businessman Mikhail Prokhorov has called Prime Minister Vladimir Putin his only serious rival in the upcoming presidential election.
“The presidential election will have two rounds,” he told the Ekho Moskvy radio on Tuesday, referring to the information from his sociological services. “When public officers speak about the election of March 4, I think they are zombieing people. They must speak about the elections of March 4 and 18.”
“My task is to create an alternative in this election. It is critically important to explain that our citizens will be the winners of the second round,” Prokhorov said.
He hopes he will be Putin’s rival in the second election round.
Prokhorov gave a negative answer to the question whether Putin might be his prime minister in the case the businessman won the election.
