MOSCOW, January 16 (Itar-Tass) —— An unidentified attacker on Monday severely wounded the chief of the Federal Antimonopoly Service's Ivanovo regional department, Alexander Borovkov, when the official was going to his office.

Borovkov has several bullet wounds. He is in grave condition and in hospital now, a source of the regional police press service told Itar-Tass by telephone.

The official was attacked at Zharov Street. The attacker fired several pistol shots and escaped.

Borovkov has three wounds – two in the stomach and one in the chest. He is being operated on. He is in grave condition, the press service said.

Investigators are working at the site.

The attacker, a man aged 25-30 years, was wearing a grey hat, dark glasses and a grey jacket. He escaped in a LADA car from the site.

Ivanovo police chief Alexander Rimsky in his Twitter blog said the attacker's identikit was being made. The criminal supposedly fired new-model bullets from a PM, he wrote.
