Kazakh opposition party permitted to have rally in Astana on January 17

Local experts unanimously say that the early parliamentary election will not give a reason for mass protests

ASTANA, January 15 (Itar-Tass) —— A Kazakh opposition party has been permitted to have a rally in Astana on January 17, Prosecutor General’s Office spokesman Nurdaulei Suindikov told Itar-Tass on Sunday.

“The city administration has met the request for holding a rally in a designated place,” he said.

Local experts unanimously say that the early parliamentary election will not give a reason for mass protests. Opposition claims of the alleged possibility of election falsifications are totally unfounded; the election is watched by a large number of international observers and exit polls are held, Presidential Advisor Yermukhamet Yertysbayev said.
